Quality comments:
This is a very nice French yarn. It is a chenille type yarn with a ribbon type yarn loosely threaded together. Very similar to Sirdar Harlequin. Since the fuzzy strand and the ribbony strand are so loosely joined, it's easy to split the yarn, but also very easy to "fix" it. No problems with the colors. The ribbony strand is very shiny and pretty. The color between skeins is very uniform.
Other comments:
I used this for a seaman's scarf and it worked out pretty nicely. The ribbed part did not pull in as much as a wool or other animal fiber would, but the varigated colors look really nice in garter stitch. The ribbony strand adds a bit of sparkle/shine to the scarf. The feel of the yarn is very nice and I would definitely work with it again. I have not washed it yet, but feel free to e-mail me if you're considering using it.

This was a lot of fun to knit up. You need to pay attention since it's a novelty yarn with several different textures. It's easy for the needle to get caught. There were no knots that I found.
Other comments:
I originally bought this to make a skirt and jacket. That was before I stopped smoking ... Now I would not wear a knit skirt. I ended up making a simple lace shawl (Garter Lace Shawl from Martha Waterman's book) and it's just smashing! (IMHO) And warm too...
