So far quality is fine.

This is made up of 3 plies of wool, dyed in the sequence I've described, and wrapped in a thick and thin strand of cotton, dyed in a slightly different sequence. The overall effect in stockinette is a fabric of mottled deep green (mainly) purple, and blue, with flashes of bright yellow and pink. The color lengths are quite short. I am alternating balls and there is no striping or zigzagging. I'm making a gansey-type dropped shoulder sweater. I like the feel; it is soft (although I probably won't wear this next to my skin). If you are buying this mail order, try to get a reasonable length of the yarn to look at; a 2" piece won't show you the full color range. For example, I don't think the photo in the 97 Patternworks catalog gives a good idea of the Prism color (the pictures of the other colors of this yarn seem more accurate). This yarn would definitely knit up well at fewer than 5 st = 1inch. I would not like the fabric at a looser gauge than the 5 st = 1inch I'm using now.

Quality comments:
I'd expected the yarn to be roughish in hand, because it has a cotton-ish appearance. However, it acts and feels like wool, isn't hard at all, and flows through the hands very nicely. Variegated colour behaves well. Nice enough to work with, very attractive results.

I bought this yarn at Stitches, it was displayed made up into socks at the Webs booth and was sold with a giveaway pattern. Europa made wonderful socks (because of the cotton content the socks are warm but not excessively so), looks very nice knitted up, and would be tons of fun used in a larger garment.

Love this yarn! No splitting, skeins held up well. This stuff is a party in a skein.

Other comments:
This was used doubled in a child's pullover. The colors were like getting candy or presents as the work went along. This particular colorway is the most exciting to my mind. The others I saw on the shelf did not inspire me as this one did.I would use this again. Maybe a comparable spring or autumn colorway would be good, if it were clear and not muddy.
