This yarn is more like a Shetland than a sport and reminds me of handspun. It is a little rough but softens up beautifully when washed.

I am currently using it for a top down raglan with a mohair stripe - I wanted a soft drapeable fabric that would be on large enough needles that the mohair would not be too tight. This is why I am knitting it on 7's. I think 4 or 5's would be the normal choice for a firm fabric . Have also used it in a slip stitch pullover alt. rows with mohair. The yardage for the money can't be beat. The colors available are beautiful - lots of heathers. Would make a great fairisle or a lacey shawl.
